Product Description:
A rare herb, which, as studies have shown, contains a higher concentration of the active ingredient, curcumin, compared to the more popular types of the same species.
Known as kali haldi in Hindi, this bluish-black rhizome has multiple other phytoconstituents like curcuminoids, flavonoids, phenolics, oil content, amino acids, protein and high alkaloids. These sometimes work individually and sometimes in synergy and are responsible for the antimicrobial, anxiolytic, antitumor, antiulcer, CNS depressant, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activities. Having anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties, it is extensively used by ethnomedicinal practitioners and traditional healers to treat various diseases.
Black Turmeric is beneficial for medicinal purposes as it does not interfere with the working of conventional medicines or the body’s natural immune system. Recent research has shown the benefits of black turmeric along with chemotherapy in the treatment of cancer. Its potent antioxidant properties and anti-inflammatory effect make it as powerful as ibuprofen. However, while it can be used for a wide range of conditions, from toothache to cancer, like any other therapeutic drug, it must be taken in moderation.
Black Turmeric is NOT to be used for culinary purposes, rather only for health purposes.
